Empty Bowls Fundraising Event 2021
Calling on all potters to help make & donate bowls for this year’s Empty Bowls Fundraising event.
It is that time again when we are asking for your help. Empty Bowls Perth Fundraising Event is taking place again on Sunday 22 August 2021 and we are calling out to you all to see if you are able to make and donate bowls for this worthy cause.
White Peacock Studios are proud to be hosting Empty Bowls again this year with donations going to Foodbank WA to help fight hunger in Western Australia.
Foodbank is the largest food relief charity in WA, they provide and distribute food to over 400 charity organisations that provide direct hunger relief to the public.
Through the years potters across WA have created and donated wonderful bowls that go up for sale. People purchase a bowl and receive a free serve of soup and bread. Last year Empty Bowls raised over $19,000, which equates to 38,000 meals for West Aussies in need. And that was with COVID! So we are looking to beat that this year with your help.
There will also be entertainment and an auction of donated ceramics. If you are interested in donating a piece (doesn’t need to be a bowl) we would also be most grateful. All money raised will go to Foodbank.
If you are an individual any contribution would be graciously received.
If you are a larger group we have attached a poster you can pop up on your studio wall or by your coffee machine.
Please could you direct message Dee Parker or myself to indicate the number of bowls you will be donating so we can get an idea of numbers. We have drop off points too at Potters Market and perth Studio Potters. All bowls will need to be provided by 19 August 2021.
It would be appreciated if bowls made could be made to an approximate size of 140-160mm wide x 60-80mm high or there abouts. We will also be sending out facebook and instagram graphics for you to share on your social media pages. This would be much appreciated.
